These special make ups for Milworks are our interpretations of military boots from WWII, it uses a military last called 379X from Alden. This is the last that Alden actually used when they received a request from the US military during the second world war, and it is characterized by the volume of the toe and the moderate shape.

It features comfortable arch support and toe movement, giving it a versatile fit and rugged look that is the hallmark of military spec shoes. The material is supple box calf leather, giving it a bold look. It features a unique natural finish storm welt and all natural crepe rubber outsole with fitted leather tip.

• Goodyear welt construction
• Brown Chromexcel (Horween leather)
• All natural crepe rubber outsole with fitted leather tip
• 379X last (also referred to as our Military last), originally developed during the second world war for the US government. It’s not dissimilar from the Trublance last in that they both share fit characteristics of maximum heel control (keeping the heel locked into the back of the boot) while allowing forepart freedom (plenty of room up front for the toes to move freely). The biggest difference between Trubalance and 379X is the 379X has a shallower toe box (top to bottom) and has a more reduced waist so you’ll feel a bit more arch support. See these comparisons and you’ll note that the width of the toe box is similar but the arch/waist is more accentuated on 379X:
• Welt is 270º flat + stitch around.
