The Lined Wool Packer Coat revives a heritage Filson design pulled from the archives, offered here in a special seasonal plaid. Inspired by the original 1914 Mackinaw Wool Cruiser, this edition adds a double-layer wool cape over the shoulders and arms for exceptional warmth and weather protection. Made from Filson’s signature Mackinaw Wool—woven tightly from sheep raised in climates with dramatic temperature swings—the coat naturally repels wind and light moisture while staying highly breathable.

For added insulation, the interior is lined with Alaskan Guide flannel, the same trusted fabric found in Filson’s iconic field shirts. A genuine shearling collar offers soft, natural protection that can be turned up and latched to block freezing wind and snow. The coat retains the Cruiser’s full pocket layout, including a rear full-width map pocket, and its cape construction creates two full layers of 24-oz wool across the upper body. A rear hem slit allows the coat to drape comfortably when seated. Fingertip length for added coverage. This is a true cold-weather workhorse built from honest materials, designed to last a lifetime.
